Advancements in Hop Up (Spin Up) Technology: One major airsoft manufacturer recently informed us of a new patented technology hop up technology that supposedly adds greater accuracy and range of fire. The concept is based on using two contact points that add a backspin to the BB rather than just the standard single contact point available in standard hop up units. As a BB is projected outward from a fired airsoft guns, the BB invariably bounces around within the walls of the inner barrel as it exits the gun. Dual contact points supposedly reduces bouncing and friction resulting greater accuracy and range. Below is a write up and diagram provided by the manufacturer. Many of the new airsoft guns we will be introducing will contain the BAXS system, including the spring pistol listed below. ------------------- BAXS Advanced Airsoft Accuracy System: Where Spin-up technology uses a single contact point (bump or roller) in the barrel to create backspin as the BB is fired, the BAXS Accuracy System uses dual contact points to center the BB perfectly while giving it backspin. This tried and proven technology dramatically increases the gun’s range and accuracy! The BAXS is pre-calibrated on the more basic versions, but on advanced models it is fully adjustable. This means you can raise and lower the BAXS contacts or shift them from left to right thus totally dialing in the accuracy of your gun.
